PC Man Backs Buick Into Greenwich Gift Shop

The Greenwich storefront is temporarily boarded up with plywood following the accident in which a Port Chester man plowed through the store entrance.

A Port Chester man backed his car over a sign and plowed through the front of a Greenwich gift shop late Saturday morning.

Leach L. Morgan of 39 Parker St., Port Chester, NY was issued a summons for unsafe backing in connection with the 11:30 a.m. accident at the Liberty Way gift shop. The accident left the store shuttered by plywood, and the Greenwich building department declared the building was unsafe.

No one was injured in the accident at Sophia's Great Dames gift, antiques and costume shop. According to police, Morgan was backing his 2000 Buick Century into a handicapped parking space outside the shop, knocked down a parking sign and slammed into the store.
