PC Firefighter Elected to State Firemen's Association Board

Michael De Vittorio, a 26-year veteran of the fire service, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) Firemen’s Home, a specialized residential healthcare facility for retired volunteer firefighters in Hudson, NY. De Vittorio was elected at FASNY’s 141st Annual Convention in Albany, NY, on August 23. He will serve a five-year term as a Trustee.
De Vittorio has been an active firefighter for 26 years with Port Chester Fire Department, serving 7 years as Captain and most recently being elected Second Assistant Engineer (Chief). Michael has served his company as Secretary for 23 years. He has also served as Secretary of the Board of Representatives of the Port Chester Fire Department, the Secretary of the Department’s 175th Anniversary celebration and on many other company and departmental committees.
In 1995, he was appointed to the Westchester County Fire Advisory board by then-County Executive Andrew O’Rourke on the recommendation of the Westchester County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, where he served 15 years on the board, with two as chairman. He is a member of the Westchester County Association of Fire Chiefs and a former member of the Westchester County Fire Council.

De Vittorio has been a member of the Westchester County Volunteer Firemen’s Association for 25 years. In 1996, he was elected as 2nd Vice President and in 2000, he was elected as President. He has served as Chairman of the By-Laws, Site and Public Relations Committees. He currently serves on the Steering Committee and chairs the Nominating Committee. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Southern New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association in 2008 and elected as Second Vice President of the Southern New York VFA in 2012. He presently serves on the Membership and Steering Committees and is the current chairman of the Auditing Committee.
Michael is also a long time member of Orinoco Council #39 of the Knights of Columbus, serving as a member of several committees and as the Cancer Walk Chairman.

He has been married for 15 years to his wife, Karyn; they have one son, Louis. Michael has been an employee of Gateway Park Associates, a Greenwich Ct. corporate office complex for 23 years, the last 13 as facilities manager.
