New Charges Against 2 Arrested in Port Chester Drug Probe
Men originally charged with drug possession now charged with illegal drug sales.
Two Port Chester men charged with illegal drug possession after a six-month-long investigation in Port Chester have been hit with new charges, including illegal drug sales, according to Port Chester Police.
Neftali Gonzalez-Mercado, 30, of 30 Broad St., and Daniel Becerril, 28, of 30 Broad St., were both arrested in a raid at 30 Broad St. that was the culmination of an undercover police investigion at that building. The raid led to the discovery of cocaine and drug-related materials, police said.
At the time, the two men and a third Port Chester man, Ellias Maya, 36, of 75 Traverse Ave., were charged with third-degree and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Lt. James Ladeairous said Westchester County Police, who were partners in the investigation, have filed additional charges including three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
