A Connecticut man was charged with drunken driving after he was spotted speeding off along Willett Avenue in a pick up truck that had its passenger door flung open and nearly struck another vehicle, according to Port Chester police.
In addition to being charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said Jader Sandy, 30, of 60 Weaver St., Greenwich, was charged with driving without a license. Police said Sandy showed an international driver's license which should have long been replaced — he's been in the United States for eight years.
Sandy was stopped by a village police officer at 11:08 p.m. on Nov. 21 after the officer spotted a pick up truck screeching off along Willett Avenue as the passenger door was open. Additional, police said the pick up nearly struck another vehicle.
Sandy was also issued traffic tickets and faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
