Multi-Family Home Still Closed After Fire

Port Chester police helped clear four families out of a house when a fire broke out on the second floor of 301 Midland Avenue on Sept. 10 around 7:54 a.m., Police Lt. James Ladeairous said.

The Fire Department first thought the fire was caused by a cigarette, but discovered it was an electrical fire that started in the wall, police said. The four families evacuated and are still not allowed back into the house as the village needs to check for safety, Ladeairous said.
