Man Throws Kitten Out Third-Story Window During Fight With Ex-Girlfriend

The 5-week-old female cat, named Precious, survived the fall.

Precious, a 5-month-old kitten, was badly injured but survived a fall from a third floor apartment window she was thrown from Sunday evening during a domestic dispute.

Yonkers Police contacted the SPCA of Westchester’s Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) Division after officers responded to a domestic incident on Waverly Street in Yonkers, where the kitten was found on the sidewalk outside of the apartment building.

The kitten was reportedly tossed out the window by an ex-boyfriend who got into an argument that resulted in a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend at her apartment. Precious was taken to Westchester Animal Hospital in Mount Vernon where they found that her upper teeth went through the bottom of her mouth from the impact of the fall.

Veterinarians expect that the kitten was able to right herself while falling, therefore preventing life threatening injuries. She is now in good health and home with her owner.

The SPCA’s HLE Division reports that the suspect fled the scene before police arrived, though an arrest warrant for charges of assault and animal abuse have been issued.

Anyone with information on the crime or whereabouts of the suspect are asked to contact the SPCA’s confidential animal cruelty hotline at (914) 941-7797 or the Yonkers Police at (914) 377-7777.

Does this ex-boyfriend have a name? I think he deserves his 15 minutes of fame. And not to be misunderstood, I mean that in a bad sense.

Investigators have identified the man connected with the incident, but he has not yet been charged.

The story indicates there is a request to report the whereabouts of the suspect but I guess that is kind of hard to do without knowing the name of the suspect. If investigators have identified the man, is it some sort of Patch policy not to report names of people unless they have been officially charged or is the omitting of the name done by the Yonkers Police?

Perhaps someone should throw HIM out a third floor window and have his teeth bash through his face. Sounds like about what he deserves.
