Man Returns From Costco To Find His Minivan Covered In Red Paint

A dripping coat of red paint covered the minivan's original blue when the victim returned to the parking lot.

A Bronx man was left scratching his head when he went shopping at on Tuesday and returned to find his minivan covered in red paint, according to Port Chester police.

The 55-year-old man told officers he parked in the waterfront parking lot at 5 p.m. and shopped for about an hour. When he returned at 6 p.m., red paint was dripping from the roof, rear lift hatch and rear left quarter panel of his 2008 Chrysler Town and Country, Lt. James Ladeairous said.

The Town and Country is a minivan, and most models reach about 68 inches at their highest point. The fact that the minivan's roof was covered in paint suggests someone dropped — or dumped — a can of paint from above, but no one among passersby in the surrounding lot said they saw anything out of the ordinary, Ladeairous said.
