Macbook Stolen in Waterfront Parking Deck Break-In
Police warn drivers not to leave valuables in plain sight.
A Greenwich man's laptop was stolen from his car this weekend when a thief smashed the car's window with a rock, Port Chester police said.
The 49-year-old victim told police he parked his 2009 Infinity at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday on the second floor of the waterfront parking deck. When he returned three hours later, he found the front driver's side window was broken. Taken from the passenger seat was a Swiss Army shoulder bag containing a Macbook Pro, worth about $1,500.
An officer who took the report found a large rock nearby, which was likely used to smash the car window.

Police believe the theft was a crime of opportunity, and urge customers of waterfront businesses to hide valuables or remove them from their cars before heading to nearby restaurants or the movie theater.
