Heavy-Duty Tool Reported Stolen At Port Chester Construction Site

Police: Jackhammer taken from truck.

A rented jackhammer, valued at about $1,000, was reported stolen from a truck at a Port Chester construction site, according to Port Chester police.

The tool was reported missing Wednesday by workers at the Restaurant Depot building site at 305 S. Regent St. Police said the heavy-duty tool was used on the site for tasks such as breaking up concrete.

Restaurant Depot bills itself as a one-stop wholesaler, providing fresh, frozen and dry foods, beverages, paper goods and cleaning supplies and equipment. The company's web site says the Port Chester store is slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2011.
