Harrison Man Charged in Attack on Ex-Girlfriend in Port Chester

Police: Woman assaulted as she stopped at Boston Post Road gas station.

A 20-year-old woman was attacked and injured as she stopped at a Boston Post Road gas station and her 21-year-old ex-boyfriend has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to Port Chester Police.

Police said the victim, a Port Chester resident, stopped at the Sunoco station at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. At that time, police said the 21-year-old, a Harrison resident, approached her car, opened one of the doors and grabbed the victim’s purse — throwing it over a nearby fence.

Police said that as the victim go out of the car to retrieve her purse, the man is accused of pushing her to the ground. Police said he then picked up the woman, lifted her up and head-butted her.

The victim, police said, sustained a large bump on her head and bruises on her knees.

The victim was able to drive away from the gas station and went to the home of a relative. With the help of the relative, the victim later alerted police to what happened at the gas station.

The woman was taken to Greenwich Hospital for treatment.

Port Chester Police contacted the suspect and he went to Police Headquarters with his mother on Friday. He was charged with third-degree assault and later released pending a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
