For a handful of revelers celebrating in Port Chester, the New Year started on a sour note.
Two women reported their purses and cell phones were stolen during festivities at , at 29 N. Main St. The victims were a 25-year-old Port Chester woman and a 44-year-old Bridgeport woman.
A 29-year-old Yonkers woman also reported her coat was stolen from the same restaurant during the New Year celebration.
Despite the influx of revelers who descended on downtown Port Chester, there were no major incidents and only one disturbance resulting in an arrest. A Port Chester man was arrested at 5:12 a.m. for disorderly conduct. The man was standing in front of 28 Greenwood Ave. and was "making unreasonable noise and causing alarm to neighbors," Lt. James Ladeairous said.
Officers asked the man to quiet down and head inside. When he refused, they brought him to village lock-up on the violation-level disorderly conduct charge.
