Friends Mourn Port Chester Shooting Victim

Wilfredo Rivera's body being taken to Texas for burial.

Friends of Wilfredo Rivera mourned for the 21-year-old at a service Monday at in Port Chester.

Following the service, Rivera's body was set to be taken to Texas, where his mother lives.

Rivera, who police said lived in Port Chester and in Stamford, CT, morning after he was shot in the chest on South Regent Street in Port Chester.

Police said today the motive behind the shooting remains uncertain and Port Chester detectives are continuing to investigate the . No arrests have been made yet in connection with the shooting.

Also on Monday, detectives continued to interview witnesses in the shooting.

Police said Rivera was shot in front of 16 S. Regent St., where he was staying. Police also said Rivera's father, a Stamford resident, told them his son had an apartment in Stamford.
