Former Police Officer, Accused Graffiti Artist Due in Court Today

Former Harrison police officer Ralph Tancredi was arrested on drug possession charges on Saturday.

Banksy or Mysterion he's not.

Daniel Cordero might have thought he was cultivating an air of mystery when he tagged at least 14 different locations around town with his "Uno?" alias, but now he's facing a long list of charges after he was spotted writing graffiti in broad daylight on Aug. 4.

The 20-year-old Port Chester man might have gotten bolder than usual when he ventured onto the property of J.J. Cassone's bakery on South Regent Street and tried to add another notch to his belt at 5:30 p.m., when it was still light out.

Cordero was spotted by Domenick Cicatelli, a former police officer who called Port Chester police while keeping an eye on the tagger.

Cordero's due in court today to answer 14 misdemeanor charges of making graffiti and criminal trespass.

Also due in court today is former Harrison police officer Ralph Tancredi, who was arrested over the weekend on drug and impersonation charges.

Tancredi is a former Harrison PBA president and a familiar name in local news after a falling out with Harrison police brass. Tancredi has sued the town four times, accusing former Chief David Hall and current Chief Anthony Marraccini of civil rights violations. He's also been in legal trouble himself, after a pair of 2007 incidents involving his then-girlfriend, who is now his wife.

Tancredi was charged with felony second-degree forgery and first-degree criminal impersonation, as well as lesser charges for drug possession and disorderly conduct, according to Westchester County Jail.

Port Chester police said this weekend they were not authorized to release information about the arrest. Tancredi is scheduled for a preliminary hearing this morning.
