Drunk Man Found Asleep in Car - Right in Front of Police HQ

The Port Chester man was charged with having open beer containers, driving without a license, and misdemeanor DWI.

A drunk Port Chester man was found passed out and slumped behind the wheel of his car early this morning -- right in front of police headquarters.

Port Chester police said an officer walked out of headquarters at 2:20 a.m. and saw 31-year-old Jose Balla Quishpi snoozing in his BMW, which was stopped in the middle of the street with with its brake lights on.

The officer walked up to the car and rapped on the driver's side window, waking the groggy Quishpi. The engine was still running, and luckily the Port Chester man had passed out with his foot on the brake. Unluckily for him, he inadvertently delivered himself to police for their easiest DWI arrest in recent memory.

"The ironic thing is, he's right in front of headquarters on North Main Street," Lt. James Ladeairous said. "You can't make this up, I swear."

Quishpi had an open bottle of Corona next to him in the driver's seat, as well as a mix of empty and unopened bottles on the floor of the car, Ladeairous said.

Quishpi, of 264 King Street, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, as well as violations for driving without a license and having open containers in his car. The Port Chester man had temporary Pennsylvania license plates, and he'll have a date with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement when he's arraigned and sent to county jail.
