Driving Under The Influence Of Drugs

On January 15, 2014, Port Chester Police responded to a call for a car accident. The accident was at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and North Regent Street. The driver was making a left hand turn from North Regent Street onto Westchester Avenue and struck a woman who was crossing the street, according to Lt. James Ladeairous of the Port Chester Police Department.

The 65-year-old Port Chester woman was taken to Greenwich Hospital where her injuries are unknown at this time. The driver stated that the A frame of his 2009 Jeep Suburban blocked his view to see the pedestrian crossing the street. The driver went to police headquarters because he had a legal prescription drug on him that specifically said not to operate machinery, while taking this medication. He took a blood test for the police, said Lt. James Ladeairous of the Port Chester Police Department.
