A Pennsylviania man and his sister-in-law from Port Chester both face charges after a DWI accident in Port Chester, according to Port Chester police.
Police said they received a report of an accident on Purdy Avenue, and when they arrived they found a parked car had been pushed up on the sidewalk in an accident. About 50 feet away, police said they found another car, with Tejani Zubairu, 40, of Tobyhanna, PA, behind the wheel.
Zubairu's Infinity, police said, struck the parked Chrysler as he was heading east on Purdy Avenue. After questioning, Zubairu was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and because he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his sytem police said he was also charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.
During the investigation, police said a passenger in the car, identified as the driver's sister-in-law, was involved in a confrontation with police. Gina Garcia, 33, of Edgar Place, Port Chester, was charged with obstructing governmental administration for pushing a police officer, police said.
Zubairu was released on $250 bail pending a hearing in Port Chester Village Court on Monday. Garcia was released pending a hearing as well.
