CT Man Caught Smoking Crack in Port Chester

Police in Port Chester arrested a 56-year-old Westport CT man last week after they found him smoking crack cocaine in a pickup truck following an apparent drug deal.

Frank Ventura, of High Point Road, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At about 5:54 p.m. on Nov. 14, police saw Ventura enter an apartment at 45 Townsend St., an area where drug activity is prevalent, and then walk out after a few minutes and climb into a parked pickup truck, according to Lt. James Ladeairous.

When police approached the truck, they saw him smoking crack cocaine in a glass tube, police said. They knocked on the window and Ventura tried to hide the pipe, police said. Police found two folded tin foil packages of cocaine on Ventura when they searched him, a police report said.
