Cash, Computers Stolen in Pair of Sunday Burglaries

Police do not believe the two burglaries are connected.

Port Chester police are investigating a pair of Sunday burglaries -- one at a corporate office, the other at a William Street home.

Employees at Lenat Company, LLC, an accounting firm, called police on Sunday after they arrived at the office at 10:40 a.m. and noticed someone had forced open a door. Missing from the 315 Westchester Ave. office was a computer valued at $1,000, a small copy machine and printer, worth about $400 each, and an answering machine worth $150, Lt. James Ladeairous said.

At 7:15 p.m., officers received a call from a resident on William Street who said a television, a computer and a wallet were missing from his home. The 34-year-old man told police he had left his home at 6 a.m. and returned at 6:30 p.m., when he found a window leading to a fire escape had been left wide open. The victim told police the missing wallet had about $1,100 in cash inside.

Police are investigating both burglaries. There is no indication the burglaries are connected.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call Port Chester police at 914-939-1000.
