Cab Driver, 74, Accused in Attack on Port Chester Taxi Dispatcher

Police: Driver punched dispatcher repeatedly in the face.

A 74-year-old Port Chester cab driver is accused of attacking a dispatcher at a Port Chester taxi company's office, according to Port Chester Police.

Victor Loayza of 50 S. Main St. was arrested at about 7 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day after an incident at RC Taxi, 40 Broad St. Police said a dispatcher at the company, a 52-year-old Port Chester man, had been trying to reach Loayza and was attacked when Loayza showed up at the office.

Police said the dispatcher had been punched repeatedly and was taken to Greenwich Hospital for treatment.

Loayza is charged with third-degree assault and faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
