Bronx Woman Charged in Kohl's Theft

Store security detained the suspect until police arrived.

A Bronx woman faces misdemeanor charges after she was caught pocketing merchandise at a Port Chester department store.

Police say 57-year-old Altagracia Rodriguez was inside at 4 p.m. Sunday when store security staff spotted her stashing merchandise in a bag.

When Rodriguez went to leave the store and passed the cashiers, security staff grabbed her and called police. The total value of the stolen items was pegged at $231, Lt. James Ladeairous said.

Rodriguez, of 1125 Sheridan Ave. in the Bronx, was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor.
