Bar Fight Spills Into Street, Leaving Several Injured

The fight began in La Grotta on Adee Street, police said.

One person was hospitalized and several others were injured after a bar brawl spilled out onto Adee Street Sunday, Port Chester police said.

Police received a call of a disturbance at 4:21 a.m. and responded to the area of La Grotta bar. Witnesses told police they'd left the Adee Street bar and were heading toward their cars when they encountered a man bleeding from his head. The man told them he'd been attacked by five or six men.

Another injured man told police he'd been attacked by as many as 10 men, and the witnesses told police they saw men with belts, metal poles and socks filled with rocks, attacking people who were heading toward their cars.

Police believe bystanders were attacked when they were mistaken for people who were combatants in the earlier bar fight.

One man was brought to the Sound Shore Medical Center for emergency treatment, while the rest refused medical attention.

The victims told police they could not identify the suspects, and no one offered an explanation for why the fight sarted. The suspects had scattered by the time officers arrived, and police are conducting an investigation.
