Armed Robbery at Port Chester Grocery Store

A man allegedly pointed a gun at the store clerk and demanded she empty the cash registers.

Port Chester police are investigating an armed robbery that was reported at El Paisano grocery store at 72 Grace Church Street at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Police Lt. James Ladeairous said.

A man allegedly pointed a gun at the female store clerk and forced her to open two registers and hand him the cash, Ladeairous said. Police believe the man took between two and three-thousand dollars from the store. A 15-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy were the only others in the store and the alleged robber told them to move to the back, police said. No one was injured.

Police describe the suspect as an either Caucasian or light-skinned Hispanic male in his 30s, about 5’7 to 5’10 with a thin build, wearing navy blue baseball hat, sunglasses, gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, black or beige boots and black gloves with yellow accent.
