4 Arrested In Port Chester Drug Raid

A drug investigation that lasted for more than a month led to a raid on Bush Avenue in Port Chester Wednesday night and the arrest of four village residents on drug possession charges, according to Port Chester police.

The investigation involving Port Chester detectives and the Westchester County Police narcotics division led the the seizure of cocaine, heroin and $1,500 in cash, police said.

An investigation of drug activity at 18 Bush Ave. has been ongoing since early March. Port Chester police Lt. James Ladeairous said a team of detectives and county police drug investigators went to a second-floor apartment at 18 Bush Ave. at about 10:30 p.m. and found the drugs.

In the raid, three men and one woman were arrested:

- Tracy Mood, 45, of 61 Oak St.; he is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

- Alfonso Beals, 61, of 18 Bush Ave.; he is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

- Melba Morris, 54, of 18 Bush Ave.; she is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

- Marvin Smith, 58, of 18 Bush Ave.; he is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Mood, Morris and Smith were ordered held in the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla pending Port Chester Village Court hearings. Beals was released pending a hearing on April 19.

The drug investigation is continuing.
