3 Harrison Men Charged in Robbery of Port Chester Cab Driver

Police are still looking for two other men they believe were involved in the robbery, which took place early Thursday.

Three Harrison teenagers face felony charges after police say they beat and robbed a Port Chester cab driver on Westmoreland Avenue in White Plains Thursday morning.

Kevin Dolye, 18, of 4750 Halstead Ave., Harrison, Salvatore Defonce, 18, of 109 Halstead Ave., Harrison, and Domenick Ricotta, 19, of Rolling Hills Lane, Harrison, face charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery and fourth-degree conspiracy, all felonies.

Police were tipped off by an off-duty firefighter from New York City who saw three males running through a White Plains park at about 7:48 a.m. The firefighter reported the three males jumped into a 1999 Mitsubishi Convertible occupied by two other males and drove off at a high rate of speed. The firefighter also told police he spotted a male who appeared to be the victim of an assault on Westmoreland Ave.

The firefighter followed the Mitsubishi into Scarsdale, where the vehicle stopped near the corner of Walworth Ave. and Claremont Rd, police say. Two men left the vehicle and ran, just before police arrived, according to a police statement.

Doyle, Defonce and Ricotta remained in the vehicle and were arrested when police arrived moments later. All three were taken into police custody and charged. Two other men in the vehicle ran before police arrived, police say.

Police found the victim, a 34-year-old male, on Westmoreland Avenue in White Plains. He was treated at an area hospital for a broken nose and swollen and bruised eyes, police say. He was later released.

The motive for the robbery is still under investigation, police say.

Police are they believe were in the vehicle. Both are described as black teenagers, one is between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, with unkept hair and a black hooded sweatshirt; the other is between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, with short cropped hair, wearing pajama style checkered pants and a white T-shirt, police say.
