A large stash of drugs and $27,000 went missing from Port
Chester Police custody in July, The Westmore News reported Thursday, Aug. 29. The money
and drugs were evidence from a joint case worked with the Westchester County
police, Westmore’s Claire Racine and Jananne Abel report.
Port Chester police had no comment on the situation Friday morning when contacted by Patch. According to the Westmore article, Police Chief Joseph Krzeminski, Port Chester Trustees and Mayor Neil Pagano acknowledged there was an ongoing investigation but would not comment further.
“Sources close to the situation said the case was a large drug bust made in conjunction with the Westchester County Police Narcotics Unit. The last two major cases the village police worked with them were in January when three dealers were arrested after a 6-month investigation and in December when 17 dealers were rounded up after an 18-month undercover sting.”
According to a source the Westmore News does not identify, the theft involved a kilo of cocaine and possibly a large gun.
