2 Port Chester Men Charged in North Main Street Robbery Attempt

Police: Man threatened with box cutter in early-morning incident.

Two Port Chester men have been charged in an early-morning robbery attempt in which a man was threatened with a box cutter on North Main Street, according to Port Chester Police.

Alejandro Corchado-Herrera, 31, of 264 King St., and Angel Sandoval, 32, of 140 Grace Church St., are accused of first-degree attempted robbery in the 1:20 a.m. Monday incident and are being held in the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla pending a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.

Lt. James Ladeairous said the men were arrested after a man outside of a North Main Street bar reported he had been approached, threatened and hit by a pair of men who pulled up and got out of a gray Nissan.

The victim told police that when the gray car pulled up at the curb, the driver got out of the car and asked if he had $25. Next, police said, the passenger of the car got out with a box cutter and demanded $25 from the victim. The victim was slapped in the head but was not injured.

Ladeairous said the attackers became distracted and left the area. Later in the overnight hours, Ladeairous said, Port Chester Police Officer Efrain Roman spotted a car matching the description given in the North Main Street incident and stopped it on Westchester Avenue.
