2 Bronx Men Charged in $2,300 Theft in Port Chester

Police: Construction material reported stolen from Home Depot store.

Two Bronx men are accused with grand larceny in connection with the theft of more than $2,300 worth of construction materials from a Port Chester store, according to Port Chester police.

Manuel Guaman, 41, of 1169 Stamford Ave., the Bronx, and Jose Mazo, 30, of 1114 Ward Ave., the Bronx, were arrested about 4:30 p.m. at the Home Depot store in Port Chester after store workers reported the men left the store without paying for a large amount of wood trip and moulding pieces.

Police said the men presented store workers with a receipt, however, the receipt was not for the materials they had taken from the store. The men, according to police, said they were day laborers who were told by their boss to get the materials and he would pick them up in the Home Depot parking lot off Midland Avenue.
