A second hearing on the Rye Town dissolution study is scheduled for early next month, after residents and local leaders met last weekend for of public meetings.
Aside from the possibility of eliminating an extra layer of government, there are important questions to answer. Among them: in tough economic times, how can three municipalities make the best of things and share resources?
The study is financed with state funds and contributions from Port Chester, Rye and Rye Brook. A state-funded website provides details on the study, including background documents, a schedule of meetings and a feedback form.
