Letter to the Editor: Race for Port Chester Mayor

Support for Republican Neil Pagano.

To the Editor,

I am writing in strong support of Neil Pagano’s candidacy for Mayor of The Village of Port Chester. I encourage all Port Chester residents to vote for Neil Pagano in the upcoming election. Neil’s record of public involvement demonstrates consistent dedication and passionate commitment to the betterment of Port Chester. Neil is a consensus builder who works well with people from all backgrounds and parties because he has the ability to remain open-minded even when working in controversial areas. By respectfully and thoughtfully considering all relevant perspectives he has the unique ability to lead towards logical and goal driven outcomes. By keeping his eye on the prize – what is best for Port Chester and its residents – Neil is able to develop and implement practical strategies that get the job done.

I have no doubt that others will write in Neil’s support based on his intelligent approach to Village development (e.g., Starwood property, marina area), code enforcement and amnesty, and fiscal matters. I agree with his stance on those issues, all of which are so important to our Village’s future. But it is Neil’s character and demeanor, his level-headed, intelligent and respectful approach that I know will enable him to be an effective leader during difficult times. Neil Pagano’s energy and passion for Port Chester is undeniable. Neil is equipped to bring the fresh perspective and intelligent leadership that Port Chester needs. I encourage all Village residents to vote for Neil Pagano in the upcoming Village election.

What is his approach to the Starwood project? And code enforcement? And the marina area? And fiscal matters? I've not read or heard a single thing.

It would have been more effective letter/ endorsement "if" the MD listed specifics. Right now this endorsement is a lot of NOTHING.

Don't shoot the well meaning and honest Dr./messenger. The campaigns are just cranking up and they will get there messages out. Including mine! Early voting starts March 12th, until then, relax.

I have known Neil for a number of years when he lived only two houses away from me. He had terrific parents who I greatly respected. As a matter of fact, I , a Dem, held a caucus for his dad in my playroom when he ran for mayor many years ago. Neil is a good guy,and I respect him, but right now we need to keep Mayor Pilla in office to continue going forward. As Aiden said nothing specific was said in the Dr.'s letter. I on the other hand have a long list of the accomplishments of Mayor Pilla. I even have what he accomplished before he went into politics. Glad to show them to anyone who doubts it. Our late mayor, Pete Iasillo, called me about it a few years ago, and I read off all of the things I had listed at the time he called me. We definitely need Pilla for another term.
