To The Editor,
I am a Port Chester High School graduate, and am currently pursuing a degree in dentistry. I am writing in support of , who is running for re-election to the Port Chester Board of Education.
I am thankful for the education I received at PCHS. It prepared me well for college, and I am on my way to what will hopefully be a successful career as a dentist. A good high school education does not happen by accident.
Teachers, guidance counselors, principals and senior administrators play important roles. I was fortunate to have many positive role models during my four years as a PCHS student.
In knowing Blanca Lopez, I have come to understand how good school board members are also vital to the success of a school. Blanca Lopez is supportive of the new International Baccalaureate Program (aka “IB Program”) being phased in at PCHS.
The IB Program will bring even more academic rigor to PCHS and will heighten the reputation of our district within the county and state. We need board members who embrace new educational trends and are not afraid to raise the bar.
Blanca Lopez will work to keep our high school competitive and successful. We need her intellect and leadership on the board. Please don’t forget to vote for Blanca Lopez on May 15th.
