Louise V. Flanagan, 96; Greenwich Police Dept. Records Department Retiree

Mrs. Flanagan organized many reunions of her alma mater Port Chester High School, Class of 1936.


Louise Vernon Flanagan passed away at The Nathaniel Witherell nursing home on April 1. She was 96.

She was born in Greenwich, on Nov. 27, 1917, to Clifford and Louise Boal Vernon.

She was raised in Port Chester, NY, and graduated from Port Chester High School, class of 1936. She lived in Greenwich for more than 70 years.

Mrs. Flanagan worked in the Records Department of the Greenwich Police Department for 25 years, retiring in 1986. For many, many years she organized the Port Chester High School, Class of '36 high school reunion. She remained close friends with the boys and girls on "The Committee" for years beyond.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Bill) Odierna of The Villages, FL; Marta (James) Bailey of Stamford and Laraine (Brian) Bronski of Stratford. She also is survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several cousins and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Flanagan was the widow of Greenwich Police Lt. Martin K. Flanagan. She also was predeceased by her brother, Clifford Vernon.

A private service will be held at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Greenwich at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5. She will be buried with Martin in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwich.
