Joseph G. Apuzzo Sr. of Rye Brook dies at age 88.

Former CEO of Armenia Coffee Corp.

Joseph G. Apuzzo Sr. of Rye Brook died on May 1, 2013. He was 88.

Mr. Apuzzo was born in the Bronx, lived on Long Island for 10 years and from 1965 to the present, in Westchester. He was a graduate of St. John's University, a decorated WWII veteran and a Certified Public Accountant.

He was the CEO of Armenia Coffee Corporation of Purchase until his retirement. He served for many years on the Boards of Directors of the Green Coffee Association of New York, the National Coffee Association, the Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange and of Armenia Coffee Corporation.

He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Greenwich, CT, where a wake was held on Sunday, May 5, 2013. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 6, at 11 a.m., also at St. Paul's. He will be interred in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Port Chester.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jean of 64 years[ four children, Janet Olszewski of Greenwich, CT, Carol Long of New Fairfield, CT, Diane Apuzzo of Pound Ridge, and Joseph Apuzzo of New Canaan, CT; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
