Former Port Chester Shop Owner Ida Stark Dies at Age 98

She owned Idalee Shop.

Ida Stark, a former Port Chester business owner, has died at age 98.

She owned the Idalee Shop in Port Chester and was beloved by generations of customers. Ida was a past-president of the ladies auxiliary of the Jewish War Veterans and a volunteer at the former United Hospital in Port Chester.

Ida was the wife of the late Emil Stark. She was born in Springfield, MA, and later lived in Port Chester.

She was the mother of Fred (and Sandra) Stark of Peabody, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of Eileen (and Douglas) Stark-Glassman and her husband and Michael and Caitlin Stark. She was the adored great-grandmother of Elyssa and Leah Glassman and Maya and Dylan Stark. She was also the sister of Irving "SonnyBoy" Mackler of Lake Worth, FL.

Her family sent its thanks to the staff of Morse Life in West Palm Beach and to Hospice of the Sea for their compassionate care. Services were held at the Star of David cemetery, North Lauderdale, FL, on May 8, 2013.
