Dr. George W. Pelebecky of Rye Brook Dies at Age 68

A practicing physician with the Westchester Medical Group who had practiced at the former United Hospital in Port Chester.

Dr. George W. Pelebecky, MD, a resident of Rye Brook, died suddenly on May 2, 2013. He was 68.

He was born Dec. 20, 1944, in the Bronx to the late George and Helen Rogalsky Pelebecky. He was raised and educated in the Bronx, having graduated from Fordham Prep, Fordham University and the New York Medical College.

He served in the United States Navy and served his medical residency at Naval Regional Medical Clinic in Washington, DC. Dr. Pelebecky was a practicing physician with the Westchester Medical Group and had practiced at the United Hospital in Port Chester.

Dr. Pelebecky was married on January 23, 1985 to Lucille Losito in Port Chester. He was a former member of the Port Chester Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Pelebecky of Rye Brook, son Scott Losito and wife Gina of Harrison, grandchildren Brianna and Amber Losito, sisters Rosanne DiBernardo of the Bronx, NY and Patricia Mack and her husband Jeffrey of Highland, NY. and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was on Sunday May 5, 2013 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. on Monday May 6, 2013, at Corpus Christi Church, 136 S. Regent St., Port Chester. Interment to follow at Gate of heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.

Memorial donations in memory of Dr. Pelebecky may be made to the Port Chester Volunteer Fire Department, 209 Westchester Ave., Port Chester, NY 10573, The Widelife Conservation Society/Bronx Zoo 2300 Southern Blvd., Bronx, NY 10460, or to Saint Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
