Daniel F. Bologna, a lifelong resident of the Village of Port Chester, died on January 3. He was 91-years-old.

Dan, also known as "Bill Terry" by his friends, was born on November 17, 1922 to Rose Sabia Bologna and Philip Bolgona. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 1940 and was proud to serve in the 82nd Airborne of the United States Army during World War II.

He was very active in the community he loved: Dan was a member of the Elks Club, the Port Chester Senior Community Center, the Knights of Columbus, and the Salvation Army. He was also a former president of the Port Chester Lions Club and of the Our Lady of Mercy Senior Citizen organization.

In June of 1949 he married the love of his life, Rose Ribuffo Bologna, at Holy Rosary Church.

Dan touched the many lives of all those he encountered throughout his 91 years on Earth, and left the world a better place than he found it.

Dan is survived by his sister Marie Bologna McCrory, brother-in-law John F. McCrory, sister-in-laws Mary Joan and Barbra Bologna, his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Bologna, his brothers John "Chiefie" and Philip Bologna, and his sister Ann Bologna Gazick.

Calling hours are Sunday, January 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A mass will be held to celebrate Dan's life at Our Lady of Mercy Church 360 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY on Monday, January 6 at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Hospital in Bronx, New York or the Salvation Army.

What an awesome person Dan was. Always had a smile and a compliment for everyone. Will miss our chats on his porch.
