YES, you CAN!

Don't let injuries and intimidation stop you!

Once upon a time, I was overweight and lethargic with elbow, knee, shoulder and wrist problems. I knew I was in bad shape and something needed to be done. I lost weight and started exercising. There were many bumps in the road to be sure. I listed a few of them above. There was quite a few exercises I could not do. I had a hard time doing pull-ups and plyometrics (jumping). My elbow started acting up every time I did high rep push-ups. I felt like giving up at certain points in my journey. But, once I began to see results, I knew I did the right thing and could not give up! I often hear people say, “my wrist is bad,” “I can’t do this and I can’t to that,” and “I’m too oId and out of shape,” for your P90X classes. Whatever!

Here’s the thing… you will never ever feel better unless you start working on your weaknesses. 

The reason many people have bad wrists, shoulders, knees, back, and everything else is because they are not strengthening the muscles that stabilize those regions. The muscles, joints and bones in our body are a team, and when one is weak and can’t perform, then neither can the other, and you lose. It breaks my heart knowing the very people that need my classes the most are too intimidated by it to start and will continue to suffer with their injuries until they strengthen their musculoskeletal system by proper resistance training. You can’t do a push up? You go to your knees! You can’t do those? You go to the wall. You hold a plank position. You must do something! Find a way to move. Take as many breaks as you want but, MOVE! There is a modification for everything and your body can do much more than you think. The only way to get there is to modify. When my daughter comes to me and my wife and feels like giving up in the subjects that she struggles with in school, we encourage here to keep trying because, as long as you try you will get better! Do you want to tone your arms? Strengthen your joints? Become more flexible? Fast? Strong? You must try! In fact it is impossible to get any worse if you take action in reaching your goals and you continually do something about it by exercising and using proper nutrition to get there.

Come to class, visit my site, start with the most basic modification if you have to and, build up your strength and level of fitness. No one has ever said they regretted getting fit!
