Port Chester Dog Park to Hold Tag Sale Fundraiser

You can also visit them at Port Chester Day this weekend.

The Port Chester Dog Park group will hold a tag sale at Abendroth Park on Sept. 14 to raise money for the fencing they need to build the park. The Board of Trustees approved their request to use Abendroth for the event last Monday. There won’t be any dogs there though, because they are not yet allowed in the park, a Dog Park representative told the Board.

The group needs approximately 1,500 feet of fencing, which will cost about $56,375, according to their website.

They recently led a CrowdTilt campaign that ended Aug. 13, which raised $1,000 for their cause.  They have also partnered with the non-profit Friends of Westchester Parks to accept tax-deductible donations for the development of our dog park.

The group hopes to raise the needed funds in the next six months and start building in the spring, according to their website. Visit the group at Port Chester Day this Saturday in Lyon Park to learn more and/or donate to their cause.
