Romney’s Vice Presidential Pick

Don't know who Paul Ryan is? Here's a brief profile that you won't find on television.

Well, all of our neo-conservative, Bush-era Republican friends must be tremendously happy with Mitt Romney’s pick for Vice President. Paul Ryan is as cookie cutter as they come when it comes to having a fascist voting record. What people around the country need to do, but never will, is take it upon themselves to know their Constitution; to know the bills that are being voted on, the content of the bills; to know what prior legislation has done to the country in the past, and where we are heading in the present.

Here is a brief break-down:

- Ryan voted for No Child Left Behind (The Government takeover of Education, and a complete failure mind you.)
- Help set up the groping, molesting, ineffective TSA that is basically there to train the entire country to be subservient to low-level government employees.
- Voted for the Patriot Act, which enhanced Federal powers for warrant-less snooping and privacy invasion. A total 4th Amendment buster.
- Supported the GM bailout, and most bail-outs before he flip-flopped, much like his Presidential running mate tends to do, every other week.
- Supports the NDAA, which allows the secret arrest, indefinite detainment without charge or trial, and killing of citizens.

Now, does this mean that Obama is the better choice for President? Absolutely not, both parties are spearheaded by people who are controlled by the very entities that puppeteered the financial and socio-political collapse of this country. No, not the gays, you silly neo-cons — The Banks.

No matter who you vote for, the off-shore banks, which drain the world of its wealth, and collapse strong economies so that they can mop up assets for pennies on the dollar, are going to be able to continue working. We had a chance with Ron Paul, but you can’t blame people for writing him off when any candidate of substance is given a total mainstream media blackout. The opposite is true for people like Paul Ryan, who no matter what network covers him (whether they are Liberal or Conservative), they will NEVER dive into the real issues like voting record – because they all commit the same acts!

During a break from the Olympics, over the weekend, I was given a total character breakdown of Paul Ryan as soon as news broke that Romney picked him as a running mate. Every network had a full, intricate video montage ready to roll, as if they were introducing a new character in a poorly-produced Cinemax late-night drama.

And what does the common American do? They take the paragraph worth of distorted information on Ryan into their conversations at the local Dunkin Donuts and form their opinions alongside other ill-informed voters.

Articles, like the one you are reading right now, aren’t the way to form opinions either; they are door-openers. Turn off your television and frequent sites like OnTheIssues.org. Know what people have voted for, no matter their political affiliation. STOP being loyal to a political party and START being loyal to your Constitution. Everything on the Television is a distorted, distracting farce. Separate yourself from it.

John, this voter ID law is all about making it more difficult for the poor to vote. No one will say that but who is kidding who. At least GOP famed strategist Ed Rollins had the guts to tell the truth when he stated that voter suppression was part of the GOP strategy. Many people do not have a photo ID. To pay for such ID is a hardship. For many snobs on this post that is hard to understand. There are laws on the books for the prosecution of voting fraud. They carry serious punishments. Why not pursue these laws if voter fraud is such a epidemic. The reason is because it is not a epidemic. It is a manufactured epidemic with the sole purpose of disenfranchising constituencies who usually vote democrat. As a nation we should be working to make voting inclusive and easier. Early voting and balloting by mail would be helpful. NO WAY!! GOP controlled state governments will impose more obstacles which will disenfranchise voters. In politics the end always justify the means. The GOP position of this issue is disgraceful. Win at any cost. Even if the rights of millions get trampled on. Jeff Meyer St. Pete/Tuckahoe,NY

You are truly delusional. Are you going to answer my question about obama's flip flop on super pacs or not?
Jasper Black August 20, 2012 at 03:08 am
Mike - It doesn't matter whether you think the Brennan Center is credible. The penalties cited are correct - up to 5 years and $10,000 for each offense of voter fraud in a Federal election. The Federal statutes outlining these penalties are 42 U.S.C. § 1973i(c), (e) and 42 U.S.C. § 1973gg-10. Judge for yourself whether any rational person would consider that this penalty is worth the risk in order to gain a single vote in an election.
jeff meyer August 20, 2012 at 03:18 am
Now why would I waste my time by engaging someone who believes that I am delusional. Better yet, why would you solicit the opinion of someone that you deem to be delusional. Time for some soul searching Walt. Jeff Meyer St. Pete/Tuckahoe,NY

As a Brit (and legal and no I really don't care who wins nor do I want to vote myself.) I find it very hard to take any politics seriously, but I am impressed these comments really go for it, racism, abuse, paranoia. Looking forward to my first election where proletariat really cares. Good article by the way!
Bjorn Olsson August 20, 2012 at 05:04 am
"Jenga", you are correct on principle, but in reality the push for voter ID is a GOP plan to lower the number of eligible Democratic voters. It's not like there is a problem that needs fixing, right?
Bjorn Olsson August 20, 2012 at 05:13 am
The systematic problem is not primarily politicians per se, it's the insane amount of money they need to raise to even enter a race. No matter how earnest your motives are for entering politics, you soon find that you are forced to spend more and more time fundraising. Citizens United flipped this process into hyperspace. If it is truly impossible to limit campaign funding, could we at least ask TV networks to always scroll the names of any politician's ten largest contributors every time they are on TV? Would be very interesting, right?
Walt August 20, 2012 at 10:40 am
Why should you waste your time defending your position? You need an answer to that question? You call others cowards and state how you stand behind your positions but offer no proof to support them when challenged and simply run away and hide behind pithy comments. I think you need to do the soul searching Jeff.
Regarding Super Pacs you cannot defend your position about the evils of their involvement in national elections because to do so would further expose the hypocrisy of the democrats.
Ross Revira August 20, 2012 at 11:32 am
Hey Farmer who is the heartless slug? You mention your 93 year old mother only living on her small social security check and needing to go on food stamps because she does not have enough money. The kicker is she is fiercely independent with a lot of pride. Maybe if you stepped up to the plate and provided for her like a good son should she would not have to resort to a handout from the government. What happened to her pride? This is a prime example of the left in America, expecting strangers to provide for a family member in need when it is their responsibility. Government programs should be used as a last resort not the first.
Watchdog August 20, 2012 at 12:30 pm
What about the Unions Bjorn, they contribute huge sums of money, some from members who do not support the candidates the Union is supporting. It's called INVOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS, and it should stop.
Watchdog August 20, 2012 at 12:36 pm
Have you never watched the exchanges between your own PM and politicians who disagree with him? Talk about being unsavory? My goodness!
Bjorn Olsson August 20, 2012 at 02:17 pm
There should be strict limits as to how much any candidate is allowed to spend, regardless of where the money comes from, so yes, union contributions should be limited as well. AND unions should be listed as contributors whenever their beneficiaries are on TV. I think most politicians would actually welcome an environment where they did not have to be fundraising so much.
Walden Macnair August 20, 2012 at 02:23 pm
Bjorn's right. Dog Boy, I know you like beating up unions but that's not really the point. They're such small players in this election that they hardley even count. What we need is total campaign reform and put in a system of campaigning similar to the UK with restrictions on time and spending. One of the reasons this country is in the quagmyer of inaction that it is, is that we've extended our campaigning back to Innaugeration day.
Super-pacs are also a huge problem, between Adelson who wants nothing more than for us to go to war with Iran and the Koch brothers who want to expand their patroleum empire, there's nowhere left for the average citizen to make an impact. Do you really want a couple of billionaires deciding your future?
Watchdog August 20, 2012 at 02:29 pm
You left out Soros, Gates, the second richest man in the world, How about Jeff Bezos, Hollywood etc etc. Iwonder why you forgot them Waldo???? Since you are so fair and balanced, I mean???
Walden Macnair August 20, 2012 at 02:36 pm
Dog Boy, the point is to eliminate all super-pacs. I used those two because they are the biggest contributors in the history of this country.
You really need to watch something besides Fox News.
Watchdog August 20, 2012 at 02:40 pm
Waldo, I don't "like" beating up on the unions but I hate when their pensions and programs best up on taxpayers, particularly when the increases in our Town and School taxes, primarily due to pension costs, soak up any cost of living increases in Social Security. Result is that you have seniors with SS of $1000-1500/month subsidizing public employee pensioners with pensions of $5000-$10000/ month. A reverse Robinhood scheme.
Watchdog August 20, 2012 at 02:45 pm
WALDO, answer the question, why leave out Soros, Gates and Bezos? GATES is the second richest man in the world and Soros has more money tan Adelson and Koch combined! Stay off MSNBC, where there is hardly ever an opposing view. Not so on FOX.
sayitsnotsojack August 20, 2012 at 02:53 pm
lady you did not write this you had to have gotten this from the obumma for socialism campaign .
Walden Macnair August 20, 2012 at 02:54 pm
What part of eliminate all super-pacs and limit contributions are you having trouble understanding?
Watchdog August 20, 2012 at 03:00 pm
This part:
Your boy Barack Hussein Obama is on the top of the list while you only highlight the Republican supporters. Shame Shame Waldo. Stay off MSNBC andNPR http://www.propublica.org/special/a-tangled-web
Mike August 20, 2012 at 03:28 pm
Jasper- the penalty for most crimes including fraud are serious, but people continue to do it. I dont see this as a partisan issue- ensuring that only eligible citizens vote in an election should be agreed to by all Americans. To get a local library card, I need to show a valid photo ID and my proof of residency. Is it too much to ask the same thing when someone comes to cast a ballot? I think not!
Walden Macnair August 20, 2012 at 04:48 pm
Really Dog,
You're answer is "Mommy, he hit me first". Grow up.
Watchdog August 20, 2012 at 05:21 pm

In the upcoming Sept. 13 Election for the Croton Board of Trustees, it's exciting to see support growing for Kevin Davis' Campaign for the Croton Board.
After six years of attending Board Meetings, Kevin, a 3rd-Generation Crotonite, is very knowledgeable on the issues and is determined to make a positive contribution in Croton. During this extremely hot and humid summer, Kevin has been going door-to-door meeting Croton residents and listening to what's on our minds. Kevin understands that rapidly growing taxes must be prevented. The Croton Board needs Kevin's New Ideas and Energy, and an Independent Voice. Go Kevin Davis Go!
Linda Grossman August 31, 2012 at 11:54 pm
I do like people to listen to the different sides and not just stubbornly stick to the far right or far left. Extremism on both sides is FRIGHTENING!!!
New Yorker September 13, 2012 at 03:07 pm
Harris Rubinroit is very outspoken but not too creative. I've seen this same post at least 6 times--even attached to an article about a school board race!
If Mr. Davis actually knew what the budget process entails (which he should if he has attended so many board meetings) he would be aware that the proposed budget is submitted by the Village Manager to the Village Board. The trustees must then pare it down to an acceptable size for to retain services and keep taxpayers from over paying. Ann Gallelli and the current VB got the proposed budget down over 5% last year.

Ginger, Moe and Frankie. I am privilaged to honor you and Gabby with this funraiser. I would alsoRead More like to thank my family who drive 370 miles to help me and show their love for you. So many volunteers that help. Thank you Tina, Ray and Melissa for holding down the tshirt and bookbag table. Thank you to mom and dad for holding down the refreshment table and to Julie, Carley and Jason for working the raffle table. Also to Gabby for the wonderful tattoos and for Missy for teaching our children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. I would also like to thank Al for bringing the firetruck and all the enjoyment it brought the little ones. Now to all that came and donated, I thank you. Without you all there would be no "WALK". Cathy, Westmed should refer to you as "Valued Customer". No person can serve two masters.Read More Every Doctor must ask themself, "Am I serving my patients or am I serving the insurance companies? Because those two are in direct financial conflict with each other. Seven minute maximum "face time" sort of answers that question, doesn't it? Cathy..I agree wholeheartedly. Charging for parking is the epitome of arrogance. As the insuranceRead More companies squeeze Westmed they are trying to pass their overhead onto us, when what they should be doing is dropping the underpaying plans and letting the world know which insurance companies they can no longer accept due to the insurance company's corporate greed.
