The Entrepreneurial Women’s Network of Connecticut’s Tuesday, January 15, 2013 dinner meeting features our Second Annual Speed Networking.

In today’s world, we like it fast. Fast food, fast cars and fast business solutions. Speed Networking helps to focus your networking efforts and accelerate the process of making new contacts. And just like it sounds it is a quick, focused opportunity to meet those who can propel your
career and business forward. And, YES, it does work and is a heck of a lot of fun!

You will get the opportunity to network with an array of entrepreneurial-spirited women in a 2-hour period. This is not your father’s networking. Be prepared with a 30-second killer elevator speech and an idea of what you are looking for from your new business "partners". Remember,

the more you are able to move another’s business ahead, the more you will also be helping your own business.

Advance Registration is highly recommended.

Linda T., I would guess Mrs. Brakewood lives in Port Chester if she is running for the Port ChesterRead More Board of Ed. Even if the schools had to impose an austerity budget, your taxes would still go up. The state has more control in these matters than you think.

Linda, the per pupil expenditure in PC schools is the lowest in Westchester and Rockland countiesRead More ... by about $2,000 per student. The issue is two fold. First, our property values are not as strong as our neighbors, so our homes have a higher levy in order to fund the schools. Second, and more important, is that the reliance on property taxes slams moderate income communities like PC. We need for the state to move to an income tax to fund schools. Scream at your legislators ... not the BoE.

I am concerned there is not enough attention to detail in the BOE budget overall and Mrs. BrakewoodRead More comment about keeping taxes affordable ... where does she live ? they are out of control and in my opinion the money we pay for taxes we should have the best looking schools anywhere ... just my opinion
