Letter to the Editor: Rye Brook Resident Supports David Gelfarb

David Gelfarb firmly believes in public service.  He was first elected as a Rye Town council member and now seeking re-election to the Westchester County legislature.  David exhibits qualities that are rare in today’s politics:  selflessness, integrity, devotion, affability and sensibility.  The people’s business in Westchester must get done.  We cannot afford the divisiveness seen in national politics today.  Furthermore, as Westchester residents, we have learned the hard way that one party rule is a recipe for disaster, i.e., higher taxes, excessive government, waste and corruption.  David’s election to the County legislature two years ago broke the Democratic Party’s legislative supermajority rule.

David works tirelessly to ensure that the County’s residents are protected.  For example, David recognized that the County needed to intervene in a lawsuit filed by Signature Flight Support.  Had the County not intervened taxpayers would have faced significant financial exposure for local schools and villages.  David’s efforts ensured that County taxpayers were fairly and adequately represented in this lawsuit.  Since his election two years ago, David has also made sure the County budget passed with no tax increases.

We should not take step backwards.  Sensibility must prevail.  Re-elect David Gelfarb to the Westchester County legislature.
