Three PCMS Students Earn Free Playland Passes

Three hard working Port Chester Middle School students were awarded with free summer passes to Playland Park last week as winners of the Astorino Challenge in Education (ACE).

Port Chester Middle School students Gianna Tempesta, Ricardo Vega and Sara Tarascio all either had a final G.P.A. of at least 3.8, an A average, or better or had a perfect attendance for the entire school year.

Astorino introduced the challenge at the beginning of the school year with an announcement on the Westchester County webstie and through the news. The challenge was open to all public and private school students in grades six through twelve in Westchester.

Of the 138 students who signed up more than half have provided documentation that proves they met the requirements.

“The ACE challenge was just a little incentive for our kids to let them know we were thinking about them throughout the school year and encouraging them to do their very best in the classroom,” said Astorino. “My message to students is that you can be whatever you want to be in life, but your success starts with a well-rounded education. That is why every day in school, it’s important to work hard and learn everything you can.”
