Rain, Some Snow Forecast for Port Chester this Weekend

That old wintry mix would come Friday and Saturday night.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting rain, sleet and possibly some snow starting Saturday afternoon.

Forecast predictions are murky as to the type of precipitation coming to specific areas, but amounts are expected to be heavy across the Hudson Valley.

Friday night: A chance of snow before 5 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. East wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday: Rain and snow likely before 9 a.m., then rain. High near 41. East wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Saturday Night: Rain. Low around 34. East wind 10 to 13 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday: A chance of rain, mainly before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
