Brakewood has the approval of the Rye Town Democratic Party and will seek the nomination from county Democrats ahead of a potential race against a Republican opponent for District 6. The trustee, who has served on Port Chester's village board for five years, touts his business expertise and no-nonsense style and says he'll cut through partisan bickering to help get the county through tough economic times.
