Power was restored this afternoon to many businesses along the Post Road in Port Chester, including four gas stations, according to Port Chester Police.
Police said that the gas stations went into service around the same time, and then went down briefly but are back in operation.
Lines were spotted forming at the stations this afternoon and police advised motorists to use caution in the area — and to have patience as they wait to purchase fuel. The Valero station at Westchester Avenue and Abendroth Avenue was also jammed, but selling fuel.
Fuel has been in short supply in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy throughout the metropolitan area because of power outages that affected many gas stations as well as interruptions in the fuel delivery system.
