Police: Man Walks Into Traffic, Hit By Car in Port Chester

No charges filed in incident on Irving Avenue.

A 19-year-old Port Chester resident walked into traffic on Irving Avenue in Port Chester and was struck and injured by a car, according to Port Chester Police.

No charges were filed in the incident, in which witnesses told police the driver of the car involved did not appear to be at fault.

A Port Chester police officer was flagged down at about 6:42 p.m. on Tuesday by a 31-year-old Port Chester woman on Irving Avenue, where she told police she had been involved in an accident. Police said it appears the 19-year-old walked onto the street, into traffic, and was clipped by the mirror of a 2009 Honda.

The injured pedestrian was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle for treatment.
