Port Chester Celebrates Columbus Day [PHOTOS]

Parade delayed a week, but it was worth the wait.

The Port Chester Columbus Day Parade was delayed a week, but with great weather on Sunday afternoon it looks the delay was worth the wait.

Hundreds of marchers from local schools and community organizations took part in the parade through the heart of Port Chester.

The Rev. Gerald Washington, pastor of the Bethesda Baptist Church, led the way as Grand Marshal of the parade.

Did you take pictures of the parade? Add you photos to this Patch gallery.

It is always wonderful to see the old spirit of Port Chester where the whole town comes together as good neighbors. As a former long time resident now living in Florida it brings back fond memories. Congratulations to all. Especially tose who work hard tokeep that spirit alive. Also I want to congratulate the Rev. Gerald Wahington who made a very stately Grand Marshall.
