PC Native Pavone Marches in Washington, Talks to Fox News

Although he's restricted to ministry in his home diocese, Port Chester native the Rev. Frank Pavone participated in the annual March for Life in Washington.

Port Chester native and Priests for Life founder the Rev. Frank Pavone made several high-profile appearances in Washington Monday, as crowds gathered for the annual March for Life.

Late last year, Pavone to his home diocese of Amarillo after the diocesan leader, Bishop Patrick Zurek, raised questions about financial management at Pavone's charity. Priests for Life has raised an average of about $10 million in donations annually in recent years, and some within the church had questioned how the group was using those funds.

Pavone, who began Priests for Life in Port Chester in 1995, has appealed to Rome. Pavone and Zurek are still waiting for a response from church authorities, according to the Amarillo Globe-News.

The newspaper's website, Amarillo.com, said Pavone's itinerary in Washington yesterday included events at the Capitol and outside the Supreme Court.

The allegations against Pavone have been polarizing. have behind the Port Chester-born priest, while others point to and possible violations of U.S. tax law.

Pavone spoke to Fox News from Washington on Monday. The cable network did not mention the ongoing drama in the priest's home diocese.

"You're going to hear a lot of talk about getting ready for the elections and increasing the pro-life numbers that we have in the House and Senate and, of course, the White House," Pavone told Fox News.
