Gasoline Price Gouging? Tell Patch

Share your tales of finding gas and filling up.

With gasoline a rare commodity in Westchester over one week after Sandy, Patch is asking readers to share information on where motorists can fill up—and what stations are hiking the price.

Alison Murphy—who lives in Rhode Island but was visiting family in the area—shares a receipt from a pit stop she made in White Plains.

Gas was $5.06 a gallon.

I paid $4.09 a gallon today at the Sunoco station here in New Rochelle this afternoon. The lines have subsided as well.

I had to pay 4.69 tuesday (day after storm) at BP in WP. It was premium, but all they claimed to have.

I think these gas stations should be boycotted by public when normalcy returns.

I paid $5.05 a gallon at the Mobil station on the corner of Kensico and Westchester Ave in White Plains on Sunday. I paid it becasue they had gas and I was afraid that if I didnt get it there, I wouldnt get it at all. Every other station with gas was 4.09-4.29. I noticed today the price was $4.29. I reported them to the Atty Gen. for price goughing.

I have half a tank and I'm trying to avoid waiting in line/filling up until next week. Luckily, I don't drive too far.

Both stations in the center of Yorktown { Shell across from the Mobil } were charging $4.59/gal yesterday. Today there are at $4.29/gal. The Shell station near Under hill ave was charging $4.19/gal. I heard from a friend that the Shell station9 center of town was charging $5/gal cash. I wonder how many sales were NOT recordered? How much in tax revenue did the taxpayers lose?

Four more years! Maybe we can touch that $10 a gallon mark
Paul Tillotson November 06, 2012 at 09:43 PM
$10 a gallon will be cheap under a Romney / Ryan market-driven economy !
Billy November 06, 2012 at 09:51 PM
As if trickle down government will do any better? And as for that pipeline from Canada, you'd prefer that oil to be shipped to China?

I got gas yesterday in Eastchester, at J&E Sunoco on White Plains Rd & Hall Ave . Not only did they NOT raise prices, they were very nice and even had firemen helping people (like me) who didn't know what they were doing. Very impressed. I will not patronize any business that takes advantage of people in a crisis.

A list should be posted here or elsewhere of the stations that are still below $4.
R. H. Lewis November 08, 2012 at 10:46 AM
