Fro-Yo Spot Opens on Main Street

Port Chester residents and shoppers now have a new way to treat their sweet tooth and stay cool this summer.

A new frozen yogurt shop, 15 Flavors, opened at 44 N. Main Street about three weeks ago. The store is aptly named, always offering 15 flavors that changed based on customer preference, employees there said. The self-serve shop follows the same style as the popular fro-yo trend – an open yogurt bar and wide variety of toppings like gummies, cookie crumbles and fruit.

Since they opened a lot of customers have accidently stumbled upon the store on hot summer days, said the employees. In early May, the building was temporarily closed by Port Chester code inspectors after they found a safety violation.

“A lot of people are surprised when they come in but they definitely get excited,” said Karina Jaramillo, a 21-year-old Greenwich resident who works there. Jaramillo added that they have already seen a lot of return customers who live or work in the immediate area.

The new yogurt store is the only of its kind in the Village of Port Chester, although Red Mango in Rye Brook and Yogo Joy in Rye are only a few miles away.

Tart, tropical sorbet, Cookies N’ Cream, and of course the classic vanilla and chocolate are just a few of the flavors offered at 15 Flavors this week. They also offer sugar free smoothies.

15 Flavors is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and is located at 44 N. Main Street, Port Chester, near Acuri’s Pizza place.

The owner also has two other 15 Flavors open in New Rochelle and in the Bronx.
