Flash Flood Warning for Sound Shore Area

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the sound shore area from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

The NWS warns that excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, streets and underpasses and other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Residents are warned not to drive their cars in areas where the water covers the roadway. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protest life and property, the NWS warns. Read the full alert here
